Bede's World Medieval boat begins

The summer of 2013 saw us begin our 7th community boat building project within the lovely setting of Bede's World Jarrow (http://www.bedesworld.co.uk/).

Drawing inspiration from the early Viking and Anglo Saxon boats from the year 800-1000AD we have researched and identified a selection of suitable vessels from which to draw up plans for our own Anglo-Saxon boat.
